Adoption has been a big part of my life from a very young age. You could say I have been preparing for this journey most of my life, because at 14 years old I was told my body would likely not be capable of carrying or reproducing children. As a now healthy adult, I am so grateful to have been born into a family where the beauty of adoption is all around me. My mother, brother, and younger sister were all brought home via adoption. It brings me immense comfort to know that baby will have invaluable resources to guide them through any questions or feelings they feel I cannot answer. In my family, birth parents are honored and adoption is discussed with openness and honesty.
Those who know me best know I am passionate about caring for others, which is why my life goal has always been motherhood. I believe it is an innate part of who I am and guided my decision to become an eye doctor. One of my greatest passions outside of my career is cooking. Food and nutrition will be an important part of baby's life, but everyone needs a little treat now and again! I love that food can bring people together, cure illness, and challenge your creativity/problem-solving. I hope to teach these lessons to baby as we spend time together in the kitchen and garden. If I am not in the kitchen I am often cheering on my favorite basketball team (GO NUGGETS!) or reading a fantasy novel. I also love to travel, and can't wait to take baby on adventures across the globe.
I am so thankful to have a large network of support amongst family and friends. They have allowed me to create a community of love and support with strong role models both male and female. I hope to one day raise baby alongside a kind and loving husband, but for now, baby will be welcomed into a home where kindness is spoken and dreams are realized. I am forever grateful to you for considering helping me realize my dream of motherhood. I am sending you all the support and care as you journey through this incredible act of love.
